Lip sync battles have been a huge pop culture phenomenon for the last few decades, and you’re finally getting the opportunity to see one in person – for a good cause, too! On May 10th, you’ll be able to witness iconic performances by legendary locals, lip syncing for charities close to their hearts.

At the Eau Claire Event District on May 10th, excited locals will be performing 90’s-themed lip-synced songs in front of a live audience, raising money for charity. Performers include Wes Escondo performing for the L.E. Phillips Senior Center, Rolly Enderes lip-syncing for Junior Achievement, Benny Anderson performing for Joshua’s Camp, and Tabitha Tatro for the Children’s Museum. Each charity will get a portion of the proceeds from this event.

But it doesn’t stop there – after the lip sync performances, local band Uncommon Denominator will be performing a 90-minute concert, full of 90’s hits. Alex Edwards and Morgan McCarthy from the WAXX 104.5 Morning Show will be emceeing the event, and a panel of local judges will be judging the competition.

This event is being organized by Cause for Celebrations, a local non-profit organization aiming to “cultivate collaboration among diverse non-profit organizations, providing them with a unified platform to amplify their efforts in raising funds and awareness for their meaningful causes,” according to their website. They want to raise the voices of non-profit organizations throughout the Greater Chippewa Valley, and this lip sync battle is an exciting and fun opportunity to do so.

“It’s, ‘hey I want to go have some fun’ but it’s also for a good cause, and that’s the whole idea,” says one of the organizers, Matt Goodland. “It’s gonna be a great time.”

Tickets are $50 in advance, and can be purchased here. Doors will open at 5pm with appetizers and drinks available, and after the lip-sync performances, Uncommon Denominator will take the stage. And, as Goodland says, “Let’s raise some money for good causes!”
You can donate to the cause here, and more information can be found on Cause for Celebration’s website and Facebook.
