The holiday season is all about giving, and one way to do that is to give back to the community. There are plenty of donation drives and other efforts to help the community. We’ve rounded up a few that we’re doing, plus a few that others are doing to give you a few opportunities to give a helping hand to someone in need.

Mid-West Family Gives Thanks Turkey Drive

Mid-West Family Eau Claire is partnering with Hy-Vee to give free turkeys and hot meals away to people in need. Donate your turkey by going to Hy-Vee, buying a specific ham, and grabbing a donation voucher. The cashiers will take care of the rest. For more information, check out the feature here

Festival of Toys

If you have new toys you can donate them to the Festival of Toys, put on by Mid-West Family Eau Claire and Greatest Hits 98.1. This will be from December 5-8th, and there will be more information coming! Stay tuned to Around the 715 for more.

Westconsin Mitten Tree

Give the gift of warmth to families in need by donating new or handmade winter gear! There are several places to donate around the 715, and you can find a full list here. You can also decorate the tree with paper ornaments, $3 or $5 each.

Give a Kid a Book Program

The Friends of the L.E. Phillips Memorial Public Library in Eau Claire are hosting a drive to give children in need new books. Their goal is to provide kids with priceless memories and creativity. You can donate new, unwrapped books to the Friends of the Library Bookstore on level 0 of the library. This drive goes until December 16th.

RCU Giving Never Melts Away Toy Drive

If you have new, unwrapped toys, you have a few options. The first goes until November 30th at RCU, where you can donate new toys for kids at any branch location. This is a partnership with the Salvation Army to distribute toys to kids.

Share the Warmth Winter Gear Drive

Another opportunity to give the gift of warmth to families in need is at Superior Choice Credit Union. Donate any new winter gear at the Eau Claire branch to help those who need it most this winter season.
