Cedar Crest Ice Cream has announced the grand prize winner of the 2025 Cedar Crest Ice Cream 4-H Flavor Creation Contest: Demo Derby.
Created by the Sunnyside Climbers 4-H club, the winning flavor features chocolate ice cream dented with chocolate cookie crumbles, smashed M&M’s, and a swirl of rich chocolate fudge. Demo Derby will be featured in scoop shops across Wisconsin and beyond throughout July, says marketing manager Shannon Simon.
The annual contest invites 4-H clubs across the state to dream up unique new ice cream flavors. Finalists receive a Cedar Crest ice cream party, and the grand prize winner also receives $500. Entries are judged by a panel of ice cream experts selected by Cedar Crest.
Some past winning flavors have become permanent favorites, including Wisconsin Campfire S’mores and Haystack.
Cedar Crest Ice Cream, based in Cedarburg, manufactures more than 80 frozen treats at its Manitowoc plant and distributes them across the Midwest. The contest is held in partnership with the Wisconsin 4-H Foundation, which supports programming for more than 150,000 youth statewide.
