Market cycles are changing for lamb and goat producers. Dave Johnson, Vice President of Marketing for the Equity Cooperative Livestock Association’s been tracking movement for years. He spoke with Pam Jahnke about the dynamics influencing prices at this time of year with Easter and “high holidays” approaching.
Johnson says lamb prices are still very attractive, but lower than what producers were paid several years ago. Why? Because the market’s gotten better at flattening some of the supply/demand spikes that happened in the past.
Johnson’s also keeping a keen eye on this red hot cattle market.
