For over 70 years, the Wisconsin 4-H Foundation has helped raise funds for Wisconsin’s 4-H program. The dollars support increased learning opportunities for the state’s 4-H clubs, leaders, and members.
In 2025, the Foundation will undergo a restructuring to enhance this commitment to Wisconsin’s youth and families.
The restructuring includes an expanded partnership with the University of Wisconsin Foundation to provide an administrative home and support tasks needed to operate efficiently as a charitable organization. While some staff changes are occurring due to the restructuring, UW Foundation support brings expertise and capacity for aiding fundraising for educational programming.
In addition, the Wisconsin 4-H Foundation is strengthening its partnership with UW–Madison’s Division of Extension. Extension leads and administers 4-H across Wisconsin. This collaboration will enhance the Foundation’s ability to support the 4-H mission.
“We believe this partnership will bring more resources to 4-H programs across Wisconsin and better align those funds with program needs,” says Charles Crave, president of the Wisconsin 4-H Foundation Board of Directors. “I’m excited to enhance our partnership with 4-H, and to partner with the UW Foundation to bring more support to programming that helps 4-H families feel connected to their communities, be engaged in lifelong learning opportunities, and build strong relationships.
All funding currently managed by the Wisconsin 4-H Foundation will continue to be restricted for use in support of 4-H. It will honor the intent established by the donor when funds were given. All funding raised following the transition will also be put into accounts specific to 4-H. The Wisconsin 4-H Foundation Board of Directors will transition to becoming an advisory board to Extension’s 4-H program. Foundation board members will continue to engage with donors and 4-H youth and volunteers.
